Terms & Conditions:

	Steps to obtain Japan Rail Pass

   1. Purchase an EXCHANGE ORDER from one of H.I.S. Los Angeles Offices before departing for Japan. 
   2. Exchange your JR Pass EXCHANGE ORDER to a Japan Rail Pass in Japan.
   3. Turn in your EXCHANGE ORDER before starting your rail travel and obtain your JAPAN RAIL PASS at one of the Japan Rail Pass exchange offices. Please refer to "EXCHANGE OFFICE".
   4. You must exchange the EXCHANGE ORDER for the actual Japan Rail Pass within 90 days of the issuing date. Issuing dates are stamped on the EXCHANGE ORDER.
   5. The first date of travel must be specified by the traveler at the time of exchange in Japan.
   6. PLEASE NOTE: ANY ORDERS WITHOUT ALL THE REQUIRED INFORMATION WILL BE CANCELLED.
   7. It can take 3-5 business days to process and ship orders.
   8. Orders that need to be received in less than 5 business days can only be made over the phone. Please have the pertinent information ready when placing the order.
                                        
                                        
Japan Rail Pass Eligibility

You must meet one of the following two conditions:

   1. A foreign tourist visiting Japan, who has a passport bearing the "Temporary Visitor" entry status, stamped at Immigration, and who can show the passport at the time of JR PASS exchange.

      Note: (Even if you have this EXCHANGE ORDER, a JAPAN RAIL PASS exchange can not be made, unless your passport bears the "Temporary Visitor" stamp.)

   2. A Japanese national living in a foreign country
      a. Who is qualified to live permanently in that country, or
      b. Who is married to a non-Japanese residing in a country other than Japan.

      Note:  Person meeting conditions a or b above must be required to show proof of same at the time of JR PASS exchange.


Exchange

  Turn in your EXCHANGE ORDER before starting your rail travel and obtain your JAPAN RAIL PASS at one of the Japan Rail Pass exchange offices. Please refer to "EXCHANGE OFFICE".
 You must exchange the EXCHANGE ORDER for the actual Japan Rail Pass within 90 days of the issuing date. Issuing dates are stamped on the EXCHANGE ORDER.
 The first date of travel must be specified by the traveler at the time of exchange in Japan. 


Validity

   1.   The EXCHANGE ORDER must be turned in for a JAPAN RAIL PASS within 90 days from the date the EXCHANGE ORDER was issued (date stamped on EXCHANGE ORDER).
   2. You must specify the first date that you want to start using the JAPAN RAIL PASS. It can be any date within 30 days from the date the JAPAN RAIL PASS has been exchanged.


Refunding an EXCHANGE ORDER

   1. An EXCHANGE ORDER can be refunded only at the very same office that issued the EXCHANGE ORDER within one year after the date of issuance (date stamped on EXCHANGE ORDER).
   2. Accepted refund requests will be issued, less 10% (and excludes any shipping fees).


Loss & Theft

   1. Neither an EXCHANGE ORDER nor a JR RAIL PASS can be reissued or refunded, if lost or stolen. Please ensure its safekeeping. No exceptions!

Use of the order is subject to the terms and conditions of H.I.S. International Tours (L.A.) Inc.. Use of the Japan Rail Pass is subject to Japan Railways Passenger Transportation Regulations and Japanese law.
